ABC Book Challenge: ‘F’

ABC Book Challenge: ‘F’

I’m finally getting back into the ABC Book Challenge. It’s a weekly book meme, but I’ve decided to do one/two a month instead, so things don’t get boring!

The rules are simple. Each time you pick your most memorable reads and books from your TBR that start with that posts letter. I can’t seem to find where this book tag originated from, so if anyone has any idea, just let me know.

Anyway, let’s get on with the tag. This week, I’m going to be talking about the books that start with the letter ‘F’

I couldn’t do this challenge without including Fire. Even though it wasn’t my favourite in the Graceling series, the series as a whole has a special place in my heart, and the same goes with Fangirl. As much as Rainbow Rowell is problematic, it’s hard to argue with the fact that Fangirl was such a pivotal moment for us college kids who were reading it, as there were hardly any books about college kids at the time.

I read Flame in the Mist when it first came out (it was included in a Fairy Loot box), and I remember loving it, but I still need to read the sequel… I’m gonna have to re-read the first book, I think.

Flawed was another pivotal book in my reading journey. It was in the middle of the dystopian era of YA, and the characters really captured my attention and the plot was riveting.

With Frostblood, I remember reading this book during my breaks when I worked in the retail job that ruined my mental health. Reading this on my breaks made me escape from the horror that was my job, and my boss at the time.

Sandhya Menon is such a brilliant author, and From Twinkle, with Love was such a beautiful book full of film references that made me smile, and characters that I wanted to be friends with in real life.

It horrifies me that some of these books have been on my bookshelves FOR SO LONG, and I keep looking at them, thinking that I’m going to read that soon… and then I never do. I actually started Furyborn, and I got about 80% of the way through it (I was listening to the audiobook and following along with the physical copy), and then suddenly, I just stopped reading it. I have no idea why though because I was actually loving it.

The same goes with The Five: I started reading it, got to page 50(ish), and then stopped reading. I am truly awful. I can’t promise that I’ll read all of these books in 2021, but I’m sure going to try!

If this challenge teaches me anything, it’s that I have so many books to read, and most of them are blogger favourites or just really popular ones that I haven’t gotten around to yet.

Until next time…
