YouTubers I’ve Been Loving Lately!

YouTubers I’ve Been Loving Lately!

Since the U.K. is in lockdown #3, there really isn’t anything to do. That’s probably why I’ve already read 13 books in January. On top of reading absolute loads, I’ve also been watching a lot of TV/Films, and YOUTUBE! I don’t actually watch a lot of booktube channels, I prefer reading book blogs, however, January was the month where I kinda got back into watching a few booktube channels, but I’ve also been loving a lot of different channels as well such as makeup/lifestyle things!

Anyway, these are 10 YouTubers that I’ve been really enjoying lately!

BAILEY SARIAN

Bailey Sarian is an absolute QUEEN. I first started watching her when Robert Welsh was doing his Ghost Stories and Makeup series, and he said that he was taking the idea from Bailey Sarian who does true crime videos whilst doing her makeup. I love the psychology behind true crime and Bailey is just so bloody hilarious, and the way that she tells the true crime stories feels like you’re gossiping about what’s happened that week. It’s still very very dark content, but her sense of humour lightens the mood slightly. On top of her true crime videos, she also uploads make up tutorials and just life things.

ROBERT WELSH

The next three channels that I mention are just HILARIOUS. Robert Welsh is a professional make up artist. He has worked professionally for YEARS, and now he is making YouTube videos to educate people on makeup, and what works for different skin types/skin tones. He also reviews different beauty brands and reacts to TikTok videos. I think the thing that sets Robert Welsh out from all of the other makeup channels is his sense of humour. It’s so stereotypically British, and I relate to it so much.

JAMES WELSH

James Welsh is Robert Welsh’s twin brother, and his channel focuses on skincare. I have learnt SO MUCH from James and I changed my entire skincare routine, and now my skin feels and looks a lot better. Like Robert, James’s sense of humour sets him apart from other skincare channels. He has a lot of knowledge on skincare and it definitely shows in his videos.

THE WELSH TWINS

And then James and Robert joined forces and created a channel where their chaotic energy is at the forefront of all of their videos. Whenever they do videos together, I am constantly laughing. There was one video of theirs (I can’t remember which one it was), and I was laughing so much the beginning that I couldn’t breathe. My stomach hurt, tears were streaming down my face. Just. Hilarious. Even if you don’t like skincare or makeup, just please watch this channel for the comedy.

WATCHER

You may recognise these three lads. You may not. I don’t know. Watcher Entertainment was founded by Ryan Bergara, Shane Madej, and Steven Lim, who all worked for Buzzfeed. Ryan and Shane are famous for their Buzzfeed Unsolved videos, which focuses on supernatural locations, and unsolved true crime cases. Steven Lim was part of the Worth It channel on Buzzfeed where Steven and his friends travelled the world, tasting different food dishes.

Then, those three guys came together and started their own company, where they do a lot of different content such a spooky videos, educational videos, and food videos. Their content is absolutely brilliant and I love everything that they do.

IILLUMINAUGHTII

It’s only been the last couple of weeks where I’ve been watching Iilluminaughtii’s videos. They were recently on a podcast which is hosted by Robert and James Welsh (called The Double Cleanse) and was talking about MLM’s. The concept of them is so interesting, and I love educating myself on new things. Watching this channel has made me so aware of how many companies are corrupt, or just not running their company as well as they should be.

ROVER’S MAKEOVER DOG GROOMING

This is such an odd channel for me to talk about on a book blog but I have loved this channel for SO LONG. During lockdown #2 in the U.K., my dog seriously needed grooming. She was slipping and sliding everywhere due to too much hair on her paws, her nails were too long, and she was starting to matt around the ears. All of the dog grooming places were closed so I really had to figure something out. I went onto YouTube and searched how to groom a cavalier. One of the channels that I came across was Rover’s Makeover. I watched the video, and just became obsessed. I’ve pretty much seen every single video on the channel and I ended up buying my own set of grooming clippers and table and got to work on grooming Luna!

Considering this was my first time grooming a dog, I can safely say that I was really proud of the results. This channel is so educational and the relationship between mother and daughter shines through in some of the videos and is beautiful.

A CLOCKWORK READER

Yes, I slowly started watching booktube videos again. I’ve always loved Hannah’s videos. She’s such an amazing person, and her reading personality matches my own. Her videos are always relaxing and entertaining, and it helps loads that we love the same books, so I definitely look forward to her recommendation videos.

ABDALLAH SMASH

This may be the most different channel that I talk about on this blog. Last year, like quite a lot of people, I bought a Nintendo Switch and Animal Crossing. I came across Abdallah’s channel whilst I was searching for a couple of tips on the game. Watching his videos became a slight obsession. He specialises in Nintendo games, so he does walkthroughs of Mario games, Pokemon games... And he does so many tips and tricks videos for Animal Crossing. The number of times I’ve stayed up till the early hours of the morning watching live streams is insane. Abdallah has such a beautiful community as well.

PATRICIA BRIGHT

Again, this is quite a different channel for me to talk about. I’ve watched Patricia’s videos for quite a long time. She’s a beautiful, entertaining person who’s videos always cheer me up. She has an amazing family, and the videos that she does are so helpful. Patricia does a lot of lifestyle videos, but she also does a lot of clothing hauls from different companies such as Ivy Park, Romwe, SKIMS, ASOS, and then gives her honest opinion on everything from the material, to the fit, to the stitching. I just love her so much.

Those are just SOME of the YouTubers that I’ve been enjoying for the past couple of months. I’m hoping to get back into watching BookTube again, but I just find these channels I’ve listed very soothing, educational, or just fun.
