YALC 2018 | Day Four

YALC 2018 | Day Four

It was the last day of YALC today and honestly, I AM SO SAD! I’ve met so many amazing people from Twitter and made some great friends that I can’t wait to see again. I know that YALC is a celebration of Young Adult literature, but it’s the people there and the friends that you make that really make the weekend what it is: BRILLIANT.

YALC 2018 | Day Three

YALC 2018 | Day Three

Another day means another day of YALC, which consequently means another day OF BOOK SHOPPING! As expected, today was jam-packed with anything and everything. There were loads of big-name authors that were signing, there were amazing panels, and there were quite a few giveaways! Like I said: JAM-PACKED!

YALC 2018 | Day Two

YALC 2018 | Day Two

Welcome to my YALC diary DAY TWO!! If you haven’t read my post about my first day in London, then you can check it out here. Technically, today was the first day of YALC, but because I got to London yesterday, then for me, today is day two.

Since it was the first day of YALC, I had a lot planned, and I wanted to make sure that I got around to everything. I’m a YALC newbie, so I wanted to SEE everything, DO everything and just take everything in.

YALC 2018 | Day One

YALC 2018 | Day One

Whist I’m at YALC during the weekend, I’m going to try and aim to write blog posts like this for each day that I’m there so I can keep you guys updated on what I did during the day, what authors I met and so on…

Also, when YALC has finished (thinking about that right now is making me so sad), I’m going to be posting a YALC 2018 review of some sorts, so I can share my overall thoughts with you on what I liked, and what I didn’t like (but I’m hoping that there won’t be any negativity!)

The Loneliest Girl in the Universe was one of my most anticipated reads of 2017… Only, I didn’t read it in 2017, because I AM RUBBISH at keeping on top of my TBR. But when I found out that Lauren James would be attending YALC 2018, I decided that it was about time that I started reading this book. I love a good science fiction novel, and after reading Lauren James’ The Next Together, I had fallen in love with James’ writing style.

Oh, I do love a good book about books. They make me feel all warm inside and I can relate to absolutely everything that happens… Perks of being a book lover! When I saw this book on Netgalley, I instantly requested it. It’s just the type of contemporary that I love reading and I had such high expectations!

I had been waiting to read this book for over a year. I love fantasy, and I love books that feel like re-tellings, but aren’t? If you get what I mean… The Hazel Wood sounded so intriguing with its magical world, and from the synopsis, it kind of gave me a similar feeling to The Raven Boys – a whimsical world just a stretch away from ours. So because of that, and because of my love for The Raven Boys, I was so so so excited…

Everless is one of the books that I actually listened to on Audible. I’m always a bit apprehensive when I purchase an audiobook because it’s a lot money to waste on something that might have a narrator that you can’t connect with, and won’t be able to listen to for 10 hours. LUCKILY, I really liked the narrator for Everless. She made the story come to life and voiced the characters so well!
