February Book Haul | 2021

February Book Haul | 2021

Since we’re still in lockdown in the U.K., and I haven’t been in work for months and months, I don’t really have a lot of money. I’m pretty much scraping by right now, and I’m lucky to have my mom who has been trying her absolute best to support me financially. Because of the lack of money I have coming in, that also means that I don’t have any money for books. The only books that I get each month are the ones that I get from subscription boxes, and maybe I’ll have a little bit of money left over for a second-hand book.

However, in January, I actually pre-ordered the Barnes and Noble exclusive edition of Concrete Rose, and a few days ago, it actually arrived. It’s the only splurge I allowed myself!

I’m not gonna lie, if I wasn’t in lockdown and I was working, then the books hauls would definitely be bigger, but I just can’t afford it right now. But, it also gives me a chance to read all of the un-read books that I already have.

Let’s get on with the haul!

The Hate U Give by Angie Thomas

In true Kirsty fashion, I am so late to the party to read this book. I had to read The Hate U Give for the monthly book club at my local Waterstones. I had been wanting to read it for absolutely ages, and having it as the book of the month just gave me that extra motivation to read it. I tend to stray away from VERY hyped up books because I end up being disappointed, but I had a feeling that THUG was a book that wasn’t going to let me down.
