I had heard so many good things about this book, and I kept seeing it on the buy one get one half price section of Waterstones. So when I saw it on Netgalley, I instantly requested it and luckily, I was sent it! As soon as I had downloaded it, I started reading it straight away and it took me three hours to read – in one sitting.

I’m kind of getting into the groove of reading poetry lately… Maybe it’s because there’s a lot of it being published that’s aimed at teenagers and young adults, maybe it’s because I fancy something a little bit different. I don’t know. Nevertheless, I was intrigued by this poet that had come by way – R.H Sin. Apparently, he is a very well known poet with many fans saying how his contemporary poetry is magical. I was eager to see if I agreed.

In true Kirsty fashion, I am so late to the party to read this book. I had to read The Hate U Give for the monthly book club at my local Waterstones. I had been wanting to read it for absolutely ages, and having it as the book of the month just gave me that extra motivation to read it. I tend to stray away from VERY hyped up books because I end up being disappointed, but I had a feeling that THUG was a book that wasn’t going to let me down.
