I have been waiting for this book for such a long time. I read the first book – Nemesis – about a year and a half ago, thinking that it was quite an old book and that it had been out for a long time. BUT NO! When I realised that it was a new release and that I had to wait over a year for the second book, I was so sad! But now, Genesis is here and boy, am I excited to share my thoughts with you.

For once I am writing a review just minutes after finishing a book rather than waiting weeks and relying on my notes to write the review. SO THIS BOOK IS FRESH IN MY BRAIN! And just wow! This book was terrific. I can’t believe that I put off reading it for so long because of the hype. Let me just say this: Scythe definitely lives up to the hype that surrounded it.

I was a bit apprehensive to read this for some unknown reason. Maybe it was the hype that surrounded it? I have no idea. Also, whilst I was reading it, I kept thinking that it was Scythe by Neal Shusterman (?) I genuinely have no clue what was going on inside of my head. I am finally getting round to reading all of the books that I have been wanting to read for what seems like my whole entire life. I’m keeping myself off of Netgalley so that I’m not tempted to request any books which also means that I don’t have to read books by deadlines WHICH THEN also means that I get to read my own books that I’ve bought with my own money. And when I realised that I had an open slot in my blog schedule, I jumped at the chance to put This Savage Song in that spot so that I could get to read it! AND OH.MY.LIFE, it was definitely worth the wait.

I LOVED this book! It was just… wow… I can’t seem to get my brain together to write this review. I saw this book advertised about a year ago and I had read all of the hype that surrounded it. But when I looked on Amazon to buy it, it was £53 for the Audio CD and £35 for the hardcover. I was beat. But luckily, I waited and Nemesis was finally sent to me from the publisher so for that, I’ll be forever grateful!
