The three questions (Ws) are:

1.) What are you currently reading?
2.) What did you recently finish reading?
3.) What do you think you’ll read next?

So without any further ado, let’s get on with it, shall we?

Author: Gita Trelease

Progress: 10%

Thoughts:

I’ve read 5 more percent of this… Whooooo! I know, it’s not good progress at all, but I really can’t get into this book. Like I said last week, I just don’t know whether this is the type of book that I’m really going to enjoy. It’s got magic in which I love, it’s set in Europe which I love, but I don’t know whether there’s ENOUGH magic in it for me to be completely invested.

I guess we’ll see…

A Darker Shade final for Irene

Title: A Darker Shade of Magic

Author: V.E. Schwab

Progress: 39/398

Thoughts:

No, this isn’t a re-read. This is actually the first time that I have EVER started reading this book. Please don’t @ me, I’ve had a lot of books to get around to and the hype surrounding this series was scaring me so much.

So far, I’ve met Kell and his several sided coat, there have been mentions of Rhy, I’ve met the King and there’s been a bit of a kerfuffle with someone who thinks they can do magic… It’s only page 39, so I’m not expecting anything drastic to happen so soon, so I guess I’ll just have to wait and see what the rest of the story has in store for me.

Title: The Shock of the Fall

Author: Nathan Filer

Thoughts:

I had to read this for my Writing the Novel class at university, and it was actually quite good! The story jumps back and forth a bit from when the narrator was a young boy, to when he’s a young adult and he tells us about his life, his mental health, the hardships that he has had to face, and it was such a raw story. I can’t believe that this is Filer’s debut and ONLY novel. I looked to see if he had written anything else, but he hadn’t.

I DON’T KNOW! I’m a mood reader so whatever jumps out at me when I look at my bookshelves. But if I enjoy A Darker Shade of Magic, then I will obviously go on and read the second and third book!

It’s nice to keep you guys updated on what I’m reading, and even though I do an end-of-the-month wrap-up, you never get to see what I’m reading during the week.

Until next time…
