September 2017 Releases I’m Excited For

There are waaaayyyy too many amazing releases that are coming out in September. See, part of me just wants to go on a massive book buying spree and buy them all, and then the sensible side of me knows that I need to save my money and not buy any more books when I have about 400 to already read… #firstworldproblems. But all of these books are just begging me to buy them and how can I refuse? Well, with a lot of difficulties apparently.

Disclaimer: all of the release dates shown have been taken off of Amazon.co.uk

Fairy Loot Unboxing August 2017

Fairy Loot Unboxing August 2017

Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month, the theme was ‘Otherworlds’ and when the theme was announced last month, I genuinely had no clue what the book was going to be, so I was super excited to see what it was and what amazing goodies I would receive in this months box!

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue by Mackenzi Lee

What’s that? I’ve actually read a book that has just come out? No, guys, I’m feeling absolutely fine, I just knew that I had to read this book as soon as it was released because I knew that I wouldn’t be able to wait any longer. I’d already had to wait longer than I thought because I thought that the release date for The Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue came out on the same date in both the U.S and the U.K.

This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab

This Savage Song by Victoria Schwab

I am finally getting round to reading all of the books that I have been wanting to read for what seems like my whole entire life. I’m keeping myself off of Netgalley so that I’m not tempted to request any books which also means that I don’t have to read books by deadlines WHICH THEN also means that I get to read my own books that I’ve bought with my own money. And when I realised that I had an open slot in my blog schedule, I jumped at the chance to put This Savage Song in that spot so that I could get to read it! AND OH.MY.LIFE, it was definitely worth the wait.

Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody

Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody

If you’re a regular reader of my reviews, you will know that I am not a big fan of circus/carnival books and the only one that I truly loved was Caraval by Stephanie Garber. I’ve read a handful more of similar storylines, yet they never seem to leave me hankering for more. Daughter of the Burning City was better than other circus/carnival books that I have read but it still wasn’t a book that I would read again and again.

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

Stalking Jack the Ripper by Kerri Maniscalco

I’m quite late to the party for Stalking Jack the Ripper. I’m always a bit wary of when authors take a moment in history and turn it into a piece of fiction. But lately, I seem to be finding quite a few YA books that do this perfectly, like A Gentleman’s Guide to Vice and Virtue. As you’ve probably guessed, this book is about Jack the Ripper, so you’ll have to prepare yourself for a gruesome ride.
