U.K vs U.S Covers | Part Four

U.K vs U.S Covers | Part Four

Hey, guys and welcome to PART FOUR of the U.K. vs U.S. covers debate. Obviously, there is a part one, part two, and part three, and this is a series that I want to continue doing as more and more books are released with gorgeous covers.

So, let’s get on with it shall we?

Incendiary by Zoraida Córdova

To kick things off in part four, we have Incendiary by Zoraida Córdova. I’m yet to read this book, but I can safely say that both covers for this book are AMAZING. Part of me loves the U.S. cover because of the fire, the girl, and the castle, but then part of me like the simplicity of the U.K. cover.

I think if I was in a bookshop, it would be the U.S. cover that would catch my attention more, so I think I’m going to have to say that the U.S. cover wins this one.

The Library of the Unwritten by A.J. Hackwith

It’s actually quite annoying me now that these pictures are different sizes and I have no idea how to change it, but we’re just going to have to roll with it.

For me, there is a clear winner for this, and it’s the U.S. cover. I love how there’s someone trying to break free of the pages, and I think it emulates the theme of the book really well.

Cinderella is Dead by Kalynn Bayron

Whist both of these covers are absolutely GORGEOUS, I’m going to have to go with the U.K. cover on this one. The blue that’s used as the background is more symbolic of Cinderella in general, and I love the artwork a little bit more!

The Midnight Library by Matt Haig

This was a difficult one for me as neither one is particularly exciting, but I think that I’m going to go with the U.K. cover, as the simplicity of it actually works in its favour for me.

The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue by V.E. Schwab

The U.K. cover. Hands down. For once, the U.K. cover isn’t the simple one out of the two. I love the colour scheme and the flowers. For the U.S. cover, it just seems a bit plain…

Winterkeep by Kristin Cashore

The last cover is Winterkeep by Kristin Cashore, which is a January 2021 release, and one that I am VERY EXCITED for. When looking at the covers, the U.S. cover is far superi

So the scores after part four are:

U.K – 18

U.S – 16

So there we have it! That’s part four of my U.K vs U.S book covers blog posts. There IS going to be a part five and six, because like I mentioned at the beginning of this post, new books with amazing covers are constantly being released, and as a book collector, I love seeing the difference in covers and judging them!

Definitely keep your eyes peeled for the next parts of the series!

Which covers did you prefer? Let me know in the comments below which ones were your favourite.

Until next time…
