I hardly ever post about music, even though it’s a massive part of my daily life. There was a while where I would take part in the weekly tag: Music Mondays, but apart from that, I haven’t posted anything.

I’m one of those people who will pretty much listen to anything. If you put my playlist on shuffle, there would be pop one moment, heavy metal the next, RnB, Hip-Hop, or punk the next. As long as the lyrics are good, or the beat is catchy, I’m here for it.

So, here are the artists that I’ve been loving this year, and some of my favourite songs!

Tate McRae

 

If you’re on TikTok, you may have heard – probably one of her most popular songs – you broke me first, which I absolutely love. But as soon as I listened to it, I listened to the whole of Tate McRae’s discography and became an instant fan, loving every single one of her songs. Some of my favourites are: that way, lie to me, and one day!

 

 

Taylor Swift

 

I was never a fan of Taylor’s music, but when evermore came out, every single person that I was following on Twitter was raving about the album. So I decided to give her two latest albums a go and I fell in love with the gothic/folk/country sound that she had going on. Some of my favourites from both albums are: exile, willow, no body, no crime, and cardigan.

 

 

BLACKPINK

 

I have been a fan of BlackPink since they first made their debut, and this year, they came out with their first album and I love it SO MUCH! K-Pop has been one of my favourite genres of music for several years now, and to watch the genre progress and become more popular has been amazing. Some of my favourite BLACKPINK songs are: Crazy Over You, Pretty Savage, DDU-DU DDU-DU, and Kill This Love.

 

 

Ruelle

 

The first time I heard one of Ruelle’s songs was on the very first episode, in the opening scene of Shadowhunters and the catchy beat got me hooked immediately. It wasn’t until earlier this year that I checked out her other songs, and I love the haughty, gothic, pop vibe that she’s got going on. Ever since listening to all of her songs, I’ve begun to notice them on other TV shows! Some of my favourites are Monsters, Oh My My, War of Hearts, and Up In Flames.

 

 

Ariana Grande

 

I couldn’t write this post without naming Ariana. I always get so excited whenever she announces new music, and I still can’t believe I got to see her live last year. She’s released a lot of music, but some of my favourites from her most recent albums are: safety net, pov, breathin’, bloodline, and successful.

 

 

Canterbury

 

I used to listen to this British rock band years and years ago, but when I was scrolling through my very old Spotify playlists, I came across Canterbury, and remembered how much I loved them. So, I started listening to them again, and now they’re part of my daily playlist. Some of my favourites are: Diver, Trainers, Wrapped in Rainbows, and Ready Yet?

 

 

Odd songs that I’ve loved
