Fairy Loot February Unboxing 2018

Fairy Loot February Unboxing 2018

Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month, the theme was ‘Twisted Tales’ and when the theme was announced last month, I genuinely had no idea what the book was going to be, but I was thinking about the box last night (because I was super excited to get the box today) and I kept thinking about what the book was going to be, and after about half an hour of pondering over the matter, I finally had a good idea about what the book was. I was also super excited to see what amazing goodies I would receive in this months box!

Let’s get on with the unboxing…

Another Fairy Loot box means another month of gorgeous artwork which is designed by Taratjah! The artwork for this month is absolutely amazing and sums up the book and theme perfectly. On the back of this card is all of the information about each item, but I never look at this as it contains spoilers as to what is in the box, and I WANT TO BE SURPRISED!

The first thing that I saw when I opened up my Fairy Loot box was a curious white box. I knew what it was straight away because we were told that this item would be included in this box. When I opened the box up, I saw this gorgeously designed Grimm Fairy Tales mug designed by Aunjuli. Around the mug, there are different items or settings linked to loads of Grimm Fairy Tales and I just think it’s such a brilliant idea! I can’t wait to use it!

Next up, I saw this this candle designed by Wick and Fable and it’s called The Hinterland, which is a place in the book that’s featured in this months Fairy Loot. Wick and Fable, Fairy Loot, and the author of the book of the month worked together to create this scent. Because of the oakmoss and tea leaves, this candle gives off a vert earthy scent and it smells soooo good, but not overpowering which is brilliant because I hate overpowering earthy smells.

RRP: $9.00

The next Fairy Tale themed item were these ‘Poisonous’ bath salts brought to us by Little Heart. The bath salts are based off of Snow White and once you put them in the bath, they give a sweet apple smell. I love the smell of apples so I can’t wait to try them out. It’s just too bad that I don’t have baths that often!

I can’t get over how gorgeous, warm and comfy these socks are! I’m wearing them right now and I love them so so much! These socks were bought to us exclusively by Fairy Loot and feature gingerbread houses and witches hats on them inspired by Hansel and Gretel.

You can never have enough bookmarks, right? This amazing woodmark created by Ink and Wonder features Red from Little Red Riding Hood and has the quote ‘wolves may lurk in every guise’. I absolutely love Ink and Wonder’s designs and I wish I could purchase her whole shop but… money… *sad face*

And the book of the month for February is THE HAZEL WOOD BY MELISSA ALBERT! This is a highly anticipated release and I’ve heard so many good things about this book! I already own the paperback copy of this book with the exact same cover which is a shame… Because now I have two books with the same cover, except one is in paperback and one is in hardback… BUT! NEVERMIND! NOW I HAVE TWO! And the cover is gorgeous anyway, so it doesn’t matter!

Seventeen-year-old Alice and her mother have spent most of Alice’s life on the road, always a step ahead of the uncanny bad luck biting at their heels. But when Alice’s grandmother, the reclusive author of a cult-classic book of pitch-dark fairy tales, dies alone on her estate, the Hazel Wood, Alice learns how bad her luck can really get: her mother is stolen away―by a figure who claims to come from the Hinterland, the cruel supernatural world where her grandmother’s stories are set. Alice’s only lead is the message her mother left behind: “Stay away from the Hazel Wood.”

Alice has long steered clear of her grandmother’s cultish fans. But now she has no choice but to ally with classmate Ellery Finch, a Hinterland superfan who may have his own reasons for wanting to help her. To retrieve her mother, Alice must venture first to the Hazel Wood, then into the world where her grandmother’s tales began―and where she might find out how her own story went so wrong.

As always, Fairy Loot included the Fairyscoop newsletter which includes an interview with Melissa Albert and also the information for next months box (which sounds A-MAZ-ING!), and then they also include a bookmark that has the artwork of the month printed on the front and then ‘Fairy Loot / February 2018 / ‘Twisted Tales’ printed on the back!
