Fairy Loot December Unboxing 2017

Fairy Loot December Unboxing 2017

Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month, the theme was ‘Oh So Regal’ and when the theme was announced last month, I knew exactly what the book was going to be; I was also super excited to see what amazing goodies I would receive in this months box!

Let’s get on with the unboxing…

Another Fairy Loot box means another month of gorgeous artwork! The artwork for this month is absolutely amazing and sums up the book and theme perfectly. On the back of this card is all of the information about each item, but I never look at this as it contains spoilers as to what is in the box, and I WANT TO BE SURPRISED!

The first item that I saw in this months box was this GORGEOUS Pop Funko! figure of Tiana from The Princess and the Frog. There were six different figures that were sent out including Simba, Rapunzel, Pocahontas, Arial, Jasmine and Tiana. I’m so glad that I got Tiana because I absolutely love her character.

The next thing that I saw was this cute pouch that was designed by Miss Phi. The quote on it says “Virtuous and Fair, Royal and Gracious” and it’s a quote taken from No Fear by William Shakespeare. Miss Phi is such an amazing designer and her work in included regularly in Fairy Loot boxes. I am currently using this pouch to store all of the main pens that I use for my bullet journal.

This beautiful notebook was designed by Stella from Stella’s Bookish Art and is inspired by Red Queen by Victoria Aveyeard. It’s such a small notebook and that is just brilliant because it means that I can take it everywhere with me (which I do!) The quote on the notebook says “to look powerful is to be powerful”.

As always, Fairy Loot always include a couple of promotional items in their box, and this month, they were promoting the upcoming release of War Storm by Victoria Aveyard, which is the fourth book in the Red Queen series. This bookmark is definitely going to come in handy!

Getting closer to the book of the month now! Here, we have a chapter sampler of Rosemarked by Livia Blackburne and it went on sale 7th November 2017. I’m yet to actually read the chapter sampler but I’ll leave the blurb to the book below so you can see whether it is a book that would interest you or not!

A healer who cannot be healed . . .

When Zivah falls prey to the deadly rose plague, she knows it’s only a matter of time before she fully succumbs. Now she’s destined to live her last days in isolation, cut off from her people and unable to practice her art—until a threat to her village creates a need that only she can fill.

A soldier shattered by war . . .

Broken by torture at the hands of the Amparan Empire, Dineas thirsts for revenge against his captors. Now escaped and reunited with his tribe, he’ll do anything to free them from Amparan rule—even if it means undertaking a plan that risks not only his life but his very self.

Thrust together on a high-stakes mission to spy on the capital, the two couldn’t be more different: Zivah, deeply committed to her vow of healing, and Dineas, yearning for vengeance. But as they grow closer, they must find common ground to protect those they love. And amidst the constant fear of discovery, the two grapple with a mutual attraction that could break both of their carefully guarded hearts.

I LOVE KEYRINGS SO MUCH! I have about 12 on my house/car keys and I just love having them there because 1) it means you never lose them and 2) it just looks AWESOME! This key ring was designed by Fiction Tea and says “books rule!” on it.

This is an item that ended up confusing me so much. You’re probably thinking “why… It’s a candle… It’s obvious…” Yeah… When I saw that there was a candle in this months box, I was so happy. I have bookish candles on most of my bookshelves and it just makes me happy seeing them there. However, my candle did not have a lid. I looked for about 15 minutes but I couldn’t find it anywhere. So I contacted Fairy Loot on Twitter explaining the situation and they were so helpful! They got back to me really quick and then sent out another candle. The candle that I received in the subscription box was Prince Charming and the candle that they sent out to me was Aladdin. Other candles that you could receive included Prince Adam from Beauty and the Beast (I didn’t know the Beast even had a name?!), and Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid. These candles were designed by A Court of Candles, and they smell absolutely amazing!

AND FINALLY THE BOOK OF THE MONTH! This months book was Everless by Sara Holland this book sounds absolutely amazing! I can’t wait to start reading it… after I’ve read all of the other books that are my TBR pile… Oops… Alongside the book, Fairy Loot included a signed bookplate which you can stick in your book, and a letter from Sara Holland to all of the Fairy Loot readers!

In the kingdom of Sempera, time is currency—extracted from blood, bound to iron, and consumed to add time to one’s own lifespan. The rich aristocracy, like the Gerlings, tax the poor to the hilt, extending their own lives by centuries.

No one resents the Gerlings more than Jules Ember. A decade ago, she and her father were servants at Everless, the Gerlings’ palatial estate, until a fateful accident forced them to flee in the dead of night. When Jules discovers that her father is dying, she knows that she must return to Everless to earn more time for him before she loses him forever.

But going back to Everless brings more danger—and temptation—than Jules could have ever imagined. Soon she’s caught in a tangle of violent secrets and finds her heart torn between two people she thought she’d never see again. Her decisions have the power to change her fate—and the fate of time itself.

As always, Fairy Loot included the Fairyscoop newsletter which includes an interview with the author of Everless and also the information for next months box (which sounds A-MAZ-ING!), and then they also include a bookmark that has the artwork of the month printed on the front and then ‘Fairy Loot / December 2017 / ‘Oh So Regal’ printed on the back!

Thank you to Fairy Loot for another month of bookish goodness. I can’t wait for next months box which is themed Talk Faerie To Me and we also have the theme for February’s box which is Twisted Tales! I do know what the book is for the January box; I’ve already read and reviewed it. However, I have no clue what the book for February is, so that’s going to be a fantastic surprise! Don’t forget to check out the Fairy Loot website to see pictures and details of their past book boxes and to also see their price plans for subscriptions. You can find all of my unboxings on my unboxings page

Believe me guys, you do not want to miss out!
