Fairy Loot Unboxing | March 2020

Fairy Loot Unboxing | March 2020

Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! So, for this month the theme was ‘Break the Curse’ and when the theme was announced last month, I knew exactly what the book was. Due to everything that’s going on in the world right now, the Fairy Loot subscription boxes were delayed in shipping which is completely understandable – hence why the unboxing post is actually being posted in May!

Let’s get on with the unboxing…

Easter Readathon TBR | 2020

Hello, there!

It’s that time of year again: the time where we all gorge on chocolate and feel sick, but carry on eating it anyway… Just me? Ok…

Even though I have loads of work to do for my MA Creative Writing course, I couldn’t pass up on Kate’s Easter Readathon! The readathon will run from 12.01am on Friday 10th April until 11.59pm on Monday 13th April and you can use the prompts below that Kate has left for us, or you can just read whatever you want! Kate said that she will also be hosting Twitter reading sprints, so follow her on there if you want to take part!

How I’m Coping During These Stressful Times | Discussion

Hey there, lovely people!

Before I start this post, can I just say a massive THANK YOU to all of the essential workers that are working their arses off to make sure that life still seems relatively normal. I’m forever grateful!

I don’t even know where to start with this post. I would never ever think that the U.K. would be on lockdown. You read about things like this in dystopian novels, you watch films/TV shows based on pandemics, but you never think that it’s going to happen to you, you think they’re just things that happened way back when in history and that they’re a thing of the past. Well… that’s what I thought, anyway.

So.

How am I coping?

Not good, I’m afraid.

For those of you who are regular readers of my blog, you will know that the Stalking Jack the Ripper series is one of my ultimate faves. The characters, the settings, the murder… Everything about it is *mwah*. I’ve always loved murder (okay, that sounds weird) and I’ve always been intrigued by forensics. So, it should come to you as no surprise that I like reading about things like that as well. I was looking for books similar to SJtR ON Goodreads, and came upon Spectacle

March Book Haul | 2020

March Book Haul | 2020

Welcome back to another book haul! I really am trying to curb my spending when it comes to books as I really want to read all of the books that I have on my shelves already. HOWEVER, when you see a good bargain, I don’t think anyone can help themselves, right? OR, when it’s an exclusive edition, and it’s really pretty.

I’ve included the synopsis for all of the books that I’ve hauled this month, including sequels, so if you’re not one for reading the blurbs (especially for sequels), then at least you can enjoy the pictures!

After reading Daughter of the Pirate King and Daughter of the Siren Queen by Tricia Levenseller, I was sold on her writing style and the characters that she creates. I haven’t read her other standalone fantasy: Warrior of the Wild (but I intend to read it very soon!) because there was something about The Shadows Between Us that really captured my attention.
