What’s On My February TBR Cart? | 2021

What’s On My February TBR Cart? | 2021

Since I’ve bought a TBR cart – you know the one: the black one from IKEA that’s featured on every Instagram post 😂 – I’ve been putting the books that I want to read the most on there. My TBR pile is around 200 books, so obviously I can’t put every single one on there, hence me just putting on the ones I want to read as soon as I can.

When I was writing my January TBR, it was then that I realised how many books I had actually included. There were just so many, but I think I did quite well! I’m going to include a picture of what my cart looked like at the beginning of January, and then I’ll include a picture of what it looks like at the end, so you can see all the gaps. Obviously, there will be a January wrap up as well, so you can check out which books I actually read during the month.

Anyway, let’s get on with the post!

Just a Rant About Life | Discussion

Just a Rant About Life | Discussion

It feels like everything I write about blogging is negative, but I guess that’s just my mental health for you 😂. I’ve always wanted to work in the creative industry, whether it be writing for different magazines, writing my own book, or working in the publishing industry. Working for a publisher is my dream job, and about five years ago, I thought that creating a book blog would be a good start in trying to get my foot in the door.

And that’s when the stress started…🙃

Blog Tour: Winterkeep by Kristin Cashore

Blog Tour: Winterkeep by Kristin Cashore

I am so bloody excited to be back in this world. Graceling and Bitterblue are two of my favourite YA fantasy books ever, and even though Fire (the second book), wasn’t my favourite, Winterkeep was still very very high on my TBR list. I was lucky enough to be sent an ARC of Winterkeep, and was asked if I wanted to be part of a blog tour… SO HERE WE ARE!

Disclaimer: 1) this book was sent to me by the publisher in exchange for an honest review. 2) there may be slight spoilers for the previous three books in this review.

Trigger warnings: kidnapping/containment, slut-shaming, child abuse, death, murder

Top 10 Tuesday: New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2020 | 26/01/21

Top 10 Tuesday: New-to-Me Authors I Read in 2020 | 26/01/21

Yes, I’m here again with another Top 10 Tuesday post. I’m trying to get back into taking part in the weekly challenge as I love how it brings the book blogging community together!

This week, we’re going to be talking about all of the new-to-me authors whose books I read in 2020. Most of these authors are ones that I should have read a very long time ago, and because I’m awful, I’ve only just gotten around to them. I’m actually surprised I read books from 10 new authors. I usually stick to authors that I know and love (which is stupid, I know).

February Releases I’m Excited For | 2021

February Releases I’m Excited For | 2021

Hello, there! Welcome to another post where I share all of the monthly releases that I’m excited for. I would normally split these posts into two sections: those that I have pre-ordered and the ones that I haven’t.

HOWEVER.

I have been doing really lately, and not really buying many books. Considering we’re in lockdown, and I’m only getting furlough money, I can’t really afford to buy books, anyway.

With that in mind, let’s get into all of the February releases that I’m looking forward to!

Disclaimer: all of the release dates shown here are taken from Amazon.co.uk and the synopsis are taken from Goodreads

YouTubers I’ve Been Loving Lately!

YouTubers I’ve Been Loving Lately!

Since the U.K. is in lockdown #3, there really isn’t anything to do. That’s probably why I’ve already read 13 books in January. On top of reading absolute loads, I’ve also been watching a lot of TV/Films, and YOUTUBE! I don’t actually watch a lot of booktube channels, I prefer reading book blogs, however, January was the month where I kinda got back into watching a few booktube channels, but I’ve also been loving a lot of different channels as well such as makeup/lifestyle things!

Anyway, these are 10 YouTubers that I’ve been really enjoying lately!

Top 10 Tuesday: Books I Meant to Read In 2020 but Didn’t Get To | 19/01/21

Yes, I’m here again with another Top 10 Tuesday post. I’m trying to get back into taking part in the weekly challenge as I love how it brings the book blogging community together!

This week, we’ll be talking about which books I meant to read in 2020 but… well… didn’t. Because I am awful at making TBR lists. Why I started my TBR Cart post series, I have no idea why. I’m a mood reader. I actually made a post at the beginning of 2020 talking about backlog books I wanted to read. Spoiler alert: I hardly read any of them. I then made a post of backlog books I wanted to read in 2021. So because I’ve already (kinda) done this post, I decided to use a few of the books from my own post, and then add a few more different books!

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo

King of Scars by Leigh Bardugo

For the past couple of months, I’ve been binging Leigh Bardugo’s books like there’s no tomorrow. And now that I’ve finally finished King of Scars, I can happily say that I’m now all caught up and I’m ready for Rule of Wolves! BRING IT ON!

*slight spoilers ahead for The Shadow and Bone trilogy. Before you read King of Scars, you definitely need to read the trilogy, and also the Six of Crows duology*

Top 10 Tuesday: Resolutions/Hopes for 2021 | 12/01/21

Yes, I’m here again with another Top 10 Tuesday post. I’m trying to get back into taking part in the weekly challenge as I love how it brings the book blogging community together!

This week’s theme has us talking about our bookish (or non-bookish) resolutions for 2021. I actually made my own post about some of the bookish resolutions I made for 2021, so some of these may be repeated, but I’ll also include some personal ones if I can think of any! 😂
