For those who know me, or who are regular readers of my blog, you will know that Kerri Maniscalco became one of my favourite authors of all time after I read the Stalking Jack the Ripper series. There was something about her writing that kept pulling me in, and I loved every single character that she wrote. Even though I was sad about the story of Audrey Rose Wadsworth coming to a close, hearing that Maniscalco had a new series coming out that had to do with witches and Princes of Hell was just *chefs kiss*.

The last time that I had heard (or read) anything from Amy Plum, it was the Die For Me trilogy. I think I read the books when I was about 14 (?) and I remember really enjoying them. That’s most of the reason to why I picked up Dreamfall, because of who the author was. The rest of the reason was because the premise sounded absolutely AMAZING!

I HAVE BEEN MEANING TO READ THIS FOR SO LONG! I saw this book in my local Waterstones about a year ago when I was at the monthly book club that I attend. The cover drew me to it. It was just creepy. The whole aesthetics of the book was just mind-blowing. There are pictures, the pages are grey. the cover is amazing and there is an app that you can play alongside reading the book.

I saw this book in my local Foyles about a year and a half ago. The thing that drew me to this book was that:

  • It was square, which is quite unusual for a book
  • It looked like it was set in IKEA
  • It had pictures

Knowing that A Curious Tale of the In-Between was a middle-grade book, I went into this book knowing I may not get the same supernatural effect as a YA book would give off. The concept of the book seems fantastic: a girl who can talk to ghosts. I love reading about kids with supernatural abilities and there’s even a hypothesis floating around that says children are more susceptible to seeing ghosts. Hmmmm… How fascinating…
