Just a Rant About Life | Discussion

Just a Rant About Life | Discussion

It feels like everything I write about blogging is negative, but I guess that’s just my mental health for you 😂. I’ve always wanted to work in the creative industry, whether it be writing for different magazines, writing my own book, or working in the publishing industry. Working for a publisher is my dream job, and about five years ago, I thought that creating a book blog would be a good start in trying to get my foot in the door.

And that’s when the stress started…🙃

My Year in Books | 2020

My Year in Books | 2020

Well, how much of a shit show was 2020?! I know that 2021 isn’t going to be miraculously better, but we can hope! When it came to my reading, I was in a slump for most of the year, but I still managed to achieve my Goodreads Challenge which was 50 books!

I’ve set myself some reading goals for next year, and I’m hoping that I can read at least 50 books again next year as my TBR pile is just way too big.

Anyway, let’s get on with it!

My 2021 Reading Goals

My 2021 Reading Goals

2021… Mom always tells me not to wish my life away, but when it comes to this year, I want it to be over. It’s not just the pandemic that has made this year miserable, and I know that the whole situation is going to be over as soon as Big Ben chimes saying it’s 1st January. But, I just want this year done. It’s not been great.

It hasn’t been good when it comes to reading or blogging either. I never really try to set myself personal or book goals when it comes to the new year, because I know myself, and I know full-well that I won’t stick to them.

But I’ve decided to switch things up this year and set myself some goals. So, here they are!

Lockdown Ruined My Reading Habits | Discussion

Lockdown Ruined My Reading Habits | Discussion

I know that everyone is talking about how rubbish 2020 was/is, and I wholeheartedly agree with them. But one of the things that I wanted to concentrate on today was how lockdown actually ruined my reading.

At the beginning of the year, I set my Goodreads goal as 50 books, which I thought was reasonable. It was 1 book a week (ish), and that seemed like a goal that I could achieve quite easily.

WELL… that just wasn’t the case, was it?

Blogging Self-Doubt | Discussion

Blogging Self-Doubt | Discussion

This blog post will probably make zero sense… Or it might make perfect sense. I don’t know. However, this post simply follows my train of thought of when I was writing about how I felt about blogging, and how I felt about my own personal blog. It was kind of hard to write because I was worried about how it would be viewed, and I was constantly thinking that no one would understand, blah blah blah. But you know what? I wrote it anyway. So, here we go…

My Year in Books | 2019

My Year in Books | 2019

2019 is done, and I’m praying that 2020 is a better year for my personal life, but also for reading as well. If you’ve been following me on Goodreads, Twitter, or on my blog, you will know that my reading year has not been good. AT ALL. BUT, let’s let the stats speak for themselves. Here we go. Here are my stats and all of the books that I read in 2019.

My Year (So Far) in Books

My Year (So Far) in Books

With only 180 days left in the year (yikes!) I have read 53 books and 15, 302 pages and I’m 22 books behind schedule. Oh, the joys. It’s actually very depressing seeing that I’m so far behind my reading goal of 150 books. We’re over half way through the year and I’m only 35% completed. My plan was to read SO MUCH over the summer holidays before I go back to university in September, but I’ve been in such huge reading slumps. Maybe i just need to read loads of manga and graphic novels to catch up?

The ‘We Read Too’ Book App

The ‘We Read Too’ Book App

After scrolling aimlessly through Twitter one day, I came across this article about a girl who had collated a list of around 600 books that were diverse. I’ve been looking for diverse books for a while now and even though I had heard about quite a few already, I was glad that I had finally found an app that told me about most of the diverse books out there in the bookish world
