Fairy Loot April Unboxing 2018

Fairy Loot April Unboxing 2018

Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month the theme was ‘Whimsical Journeys’ and when the theme was announced last month, I had an idea of what the book was going to be, but then it turns out I was complete wrong xD

Let’s get on with the unboxing…

Another Fairy Loot box means another month of gorgeous artwork which is designed by Taratjah! The artwork for this month is absolutely amazing and sums up the book and theme perfectly. On the back of this card is all of the information about each item, but I never look at this as it contains spoilers as to what is in the box, and I WANT TO BE SURPRISED!

How awesome is this reusable mug?! This is an awesome design by Ink and Wonder and it’s inspired by Narnia. Just look at the amazing detail in the map and in the illustration of Aslan! I can’t wait to use this!

I do love getting candles in the Fairy Loot box! Even though they tend to include one in nearly every single one of their boxes, I love getting them! They always smell amazing and are so pretty. This one is inspired by the book of the month and Fairy Loot worked with the author and Flick the Wick on the candle so that it smelled like one of the main characters!

Look at this gorgeous artwork that was designed by FictionTea! I can’t wait to put this on my wall with the rest of the artwork that I’ve received in the Fairy Loot boxes. Looking at all of these places, I have no idea which one I would travel to… I mean… ALL of them are awesome, but I guess I would HAVE to pick Hogwarts because… Well… It’s HOGWARTS! Which place would you pick out of these?

Ever since I got the cork bunting from last months Fairy Loot box, I have been looking for awesome pins to out on there and I didn’t have to look any further! Fairy Loot go and put a pin badge in their box! This is a pin badge inspired by Percy Jackson, which I haven’t read yet – don’t hurt me! – but that doesn’t mean that I can’t admire how gorgeous this pin badge is!

This Ace of Shades button badge is one of the promotional items that Fairy Loot included in this months box! As you can see, it was inspired by Ace of Shades by Amanda Foody which is a brilliant book about magic. This is another badge that will be going on the cork bunting!

This bookmark was another promotional item that came with Fairy Loot. This bookmark was promoting The Fates Divide by Veronica Roth which is the second book in the Carve the Mark series.

Little Inkling Designs have teamed up with Fairy Loot again to bring us another amazing item! This time, Little Inkling Design has designed this brilliant notepad that says “let’s carpe the hell out of this diem” which is a play on the latin phrase “carpe diem” which means ‘seize the moment’… so basically… this notepad is saying “let’s seize the hell out of this moment” xD The quote comes from The Darkest Minds trilogy by Alexandra Bracken.

And the last bookish item in this months box is this A.MAZ.ING tote bag designed by Stella’s Bookish Art. The tote bag is inspired by J.R.R Tolkein’s: The Hobbit, and it says ‘I’m going on an adventure!’ which is a very famous quote that Bilbo says!

RRP: $24.99

And finally, we come to the book of the month! This month, Fairy Loot included Beyond a Darkened Shore by Jessica Leake in their box, along with a signed bookplate, a sticker, and a letter from the author that also acts as a piece of artwork as one of the characters.  I had already pre ordered this book, so now I can cancel the pre order!

The ancient land of Éirinn is mired in war. Ciara, Princess of Mide, has never known a time when Éirinn’s kingdoms were not battling for power, or Northmen were not plundering their shores.

The people of Mide have thankfully always been safe because of Ciara’s unearthly ability to control her enemies’ minds and actions. But lately, a mysterious crow has been appearing to Ciara, whispering warnings of an even darker threat. Although her clansmen dismiss her visions as pagan nonsense, Ciara fears this coming evil will destroy not just Éirinn, but the entire world.

Then the crow leads Ciara to Leif, a young Northman leader. Leif should be Ciara’s enemy, but when Ciara discovers that he, too, shares her prophetic visions, she knows he’s something more. Leif is mounting an impressive army, and with Ciara’s strength in battle the two might have a chance to save their world.

With evil rising around them, they’ll do what it takes to defend the land they love…even if it means making the greatest sacrifice of all.

As always, Fairy Loot included the Fairyscoop newsletter which includes an interview with Jessica Leake and also the information for next months box (which sounds A-MAZ-ING!), and then they also include a bookmark that has the artwork of the month printed on the front and then ‘Fairy Loot / April 2018 / ‘Whimsical Journeys’ printed on the back!
