I’ve been looking out for more YA contemporary books about fat girls… Or even girls who aren’t comfortable with the size of their body or how they look. Because, I’m one of those girls, so I’m always on the lookout for good representation of this in YA. I’d heard a lot about Big Bones throughout the blogosphere and I was interested to see whether it was the type of book that I was looking for, so I decided to request a copy and see what I thought.

Fairy Loot May Unboxing | 2018

Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month the theme was ‘Save the Kingdom’ and when the theme was announced last month, I had no idea what the book was going to be. That’s what i love about having the book subscription service – I just love being surprised!

Let’s get on with the unboxing…

I have been waiting for this book for such a long time. I read the first book – Nemesis – about a year and a half ago, thinking that it was quite an old book and that it had been out for a long time. BUT NO! When I realised that it was a new release and that I had to wait over a year for the second book, I was so sad! But now, Genesis is here and boy, am I excited to share my thoughts with you.

Hey, look! It’s another graphic novel review! And it’s another graphic novel that I requested from Netgalley! Except this graphic novel is so much different than to what I normally read in graphic novel format, and it definitely has a different artwork style than to what I’m used to. But hey. I like branching out when it comes to graphic novels, so I wanted to give Spectacle a go!

I had to read this book for my monthly Waterstones book club, and guess what? I didn’t read it in time. I had read 80 pages, and at the book club, I was given spoilers for the rest of the book, but I wasn’t really that bothered. BUT! 1 week later, I finished it, and these are my thoughts…

Bullet Journal | May 2018

Bullet Journal | May 2018

Hey, guys and welcome to my May plan with me! I do have videos on my BookTube channel where you can see me physically plan out most of monthly spreads, or I just have pictures of the finished products which are down below! I absolutely love doing my bullet journal. It means that I can sit down for 3 or 4 hours and just relax and draw whilst watching TV… I did do something different this month, however. I decided to get rid of my time tracker page as I started to feel like it was a chore to do it and I don’t know… I’m actually thinking of getting rid of my mood and habit tracker pages as well for the future months, but I’m not 100% sure…

&& I also haven’t finished colouring all of the titles in for the pages! I’ve been bombarded with university assessments, and haven’t had the time to completely finish this months pages.

I will link all of the supplies that I used at the end of each section!

Fire by Kristin Cashore

Fire by Kristin Cashore

Like with Graceling, I listened to Fire on audiobook with Emma Powell narrating it, and after loving Graceling, I was so excited to get round to reading Fire. It was only recently that I actually found out that Fire is actually a spin-off prequel to Graceling and not an immediate sequel. So it follows a completely different character, and a different storyline, but it’s set in the same world… But in a different part of the world.

“Po,” she said to his back, “where’s your coat?”

“Where’s yours?”

She moved to stand beside him. “I’m warm.”

He tilted his head to her. “If you’re warm and I’m coatless, there’s only one friendly thing for you to do.”

“Go back and get your coat for you?”

– Kristin Cashore, Graceling

I have been meaning to read this series FOR SO LONG! So when my audible account renewed and I got a credit for the month, I used it to buy Graceling on audiobook (even though I had the physical copy – I was going a bit crazy with audiobooks with that month). So as soon as I purchased the audiobook, I started it straight away, and fell into the world of the Gracelings.
