Jessica Jones S1E10 AKA 1,000 Cuts

Jessica Jones S1E10 AKA 1,000 Cuts

Episode 10 was so much better than the episode 9. Even though episode 9 was a brilliant build up towards the season finale, episode 10 was just pure intensity!

So much happens in this episode that after I had gotten over the shock of one thing, I was reeling from the next one. One of the things that I loved about this episode was that we got to see more of Hogarth (Carrie-Anne Moss). Throughout all of my reviews of Jessica Jones, the one thing that I keep on saying is that I don’t see Hogarth’s part in all of this, but in episode 10, we finally get a glimpse.

Another thing that I loved about this episode was that there were a lot of battles. We had Hogarth versus her ex-wife, Wendy (Robin Weigert), Jessica (Krysten Ritter) versus Kilgrave (David Tennent), Malcom (Eka Darville) versus what seemed like everybody, and then Hope (Erin Moriarty) versus herself.

Episode 10 was the kind of episode that I was hoping foe when I heard that Jessica Jones was being made into a TV series. It had the action, the character development and the plot that I would expect; all of the character’s storylines became intertwined with each other rather than running their separate courses like they have during the rest of the series. However, the one thing that I didn’t really like that about this episode was the whole ordeal with Robyn… I get that she thinks her brother has gone missing and i get that she’s upset, but when she finally learns the truth, she wants everyone to go after Jessica and beat her up? Where’s the logic in that? Doesn’t she realise that Jess is the one that’s SAVING them?!

Also, the ending of this episode had me SHOOK! The whole storyline with Hope was so intense and if I was any further out on the edge of my seat, I would have fallen off. I don’t think that the Hope’s arc in this episode was brilliant for the storyline as a whole, but I do understand why the producers made it happen… It drove the plot forward slightly.

Overall, this was a much better episode than the previous couple and now that the storyline is building up to the finale, it’s getting more and more tense. I just hope that the series continues in the form of this episode!
