Fairy Loot January Unboxing 2018

Fairy Loot January Unboxing 2018

Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month, the theme was ‘Talk Faerie To Me’ and when the theme was announced last month, I knew exactly what the book was going to be; I was also super excited to see what amazing goodies I would receive in this months box!

Let’s get on with the unboxing…

Another Fairy Loot box means another month of gorgeous artwork which is designed by Taratjah! The artwork for this month is absolutely amazing and sums up the book and theme perfectly. On the back of this card is all of the information about each item, but I never look at this as it contains spoilers as to what is in the box, and I WANT TO BE SURPRISED!

The next thing that I saw in this months box was this amazing candle by Meraki Candles, and its theme was Prince Cardan which is a charcater out of the book of the month! This candle smells absolutely gorgeous (like the rest of Meraki Candles!) and the inside if white with a dusting of blue glitter on top! I can’t wait to start burning this!

THIS LIP BALM FROM GEEKY CLEAN IS ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! It makes my lips feel so smooth and moisturised and it smells so good as well! It has a foresty, earthy smell. There was two type of lip balms that got sent out: Seelie and Unseelie. Which one did you get?

This is my favourite item out of the entire box! Why? Because I was genuinely going to order a pillowcase with the same quote on a couple of days ago, but I stopped myself because I thought about my money and the customs charge that comes with Society 6… This gorgeously designed pillowcase was designed by Evie Seo over at Evie Bookish. You can’t buy this EXACT pillow from her Redbubble and Society 6 store, but you can buy a very very similar one! The pillowcase says “Only You Can Decide What Breaks You” and it’s a quote taken from A Court of Wings and Ruin by Sarah  J. Maas.

I don’t think that a colouring book has ever been included in a Fairy Loot box before? This is such a wonderful addition to the box and is such a good size as well, so you can fit it in your bag and take it anywhere with you. The drawings inside are incredible and are really intricate, so if you don’t like colouring in small sections, then this colouring book isn’t for you. However, if you prefer colouring in more detailed pictures, then this isn’t right down your alley! This Faerieland: Mythical Beasts colouring book is an exclusive item, so you can’t buy this in any shops and was created by Michael O’ Mara.

RRP: £9.99

The next two items that I saw in the box were these gorgeously designed art prints! On one side of the art prints were drawings of Aelin and Rowan from Throne of Glass by Sarah J. Maas and these were drawn by Diana Worak. And then on the other side of the prints were some book quotes. The left-hand side quote says “do not lose your heart to a faery prince. It never ends well” and this is a quote taken from The Iron King by Julie Kagawa, and then the quote on the right-hand side says “we all tell the truth as we see it. Do we not?” and this is a quote taken from City of Glass by Cassandra Clare. The book quotes were designed by Stella’s Bookish Art and I absolutely LOVE both sides of the prints but my favourites are the book quotes because I’ve never read Throne of Glass! *don’t hurt me*

I love having some new bookmarks and I do love the magnetic bookmarks that Fairy Loot sometimes include in their boxes. This month, they included magnetic bookmarks that were designed by Dreamy and Co. and were inspired by Feyre and Rhysand from A Court of Thorns and Roses by Sarah J. Maas. Again, I haven’t read ACOTAR, but I can still appreciate how gorgeous these bookmarks are, and I will definitely be using them when I [FINALLY] get round to reading the series.

RRP: £2.30 per bookmark

AND FINALLY! THE BOOK OF THE MONTH IS THE CRUEL PRINCE BY HOLLY BLACK! I have already read and reviewed this book, so I will leave a link to my review below. This is a highly anticipated release from the Queen of Fae, Holly Black. I was so excited to finally get a finished copy of this as I read an arc of The Cruel Prince a few months ago.

Jude was seven years old when her parents were murdered and she and her two sisters were stolen away to live in the treacherous High Court of Faerie. Ten years later, Jude wants nothing more than to belong there, despite her mortality. But many of the fey despise humans. Especially Prince Cardan, the youngest and wickedest son of the High King.

To win a place at the Court, she must defy him–and face the consequences.

In doing so, she becomes embroiled in palace intrigues and deceptions, discovering her own capacity for bloodshed. But as civil war threatens to drown the Courts of Faerie in violence, Jude will need to risk her life in a dangerous alliance to save her sisters, and Faerie itself.

This was something extra that Fairy Loot included in this months box! This is an art print of Prince Cardan (who is a character from The Cruel Prince) and this was designed by Merwild!

As always, Fairy Loot included the Fairyscoop newsletter which includes an interview with Holly Black and also the information for next months box (which sounds A-MAZ-ING!), and then they also include a bookmark that has the artwork of the month printed on the front and then ‘Fairy Loot / January 2018 / ‘Talk Faerie To Me’ printed on the back!

Thank you to Fairy Loot for another month of bookish goodness. I can’t wait for next months box which is themed Twisted Tales and we also have the theme for March’s box which is Memorable Moments! The March box is also the 2 YEAR ANNIVERSARY BOX FOR FAIRY LOOT! Which means that the box is going to be PURPLE!! I have no clue what the books are for both February and March, so they’re both going to be a fantastic surprise! Don’t forget to check out the Fairy Loot website to see pictures and details of their past book boxes and to also see their price plans for subscriptions. You can find all of my unboxings on my unboxings page

Believe me guys, you do not want to miss out!
