Fairy Loot November Unboxing 2017

Fairy Loot November Unboxing 2017

Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month, the theme was ‘Ladies That Slay’ and when the theme was announced last month, I knew exactly what the book was going to be; I was also super excited to see what amazing goodies I would receive in this months box!

Let’s get on with the unboxing…

Another Fairy Loot box means another month of gorgeous artwork! The artwork for this month is absolutely amazing and sums up the book and theme perfectly. On the back of this card is all of the information about each item, but I never look at this as it contains spoilers as to what is in the box, and I WANT TO BE SURPRISED!

The first item that was hiding underneath Fairy Loot’s iconic purple paper strips was this gorgeous smelling Fruit Tea (with blackberries and currants) and this was created by Bookish Teas. This particular tea is called Blue’s Brew and is inspired by Blue Sargent from the Raven Cycle. Unfortunately, I don’t drink any kind of herbal/green/fruit tea, I’m very boring and just stick to normal, plain tea… Sorry, guys! Even though I won’t use this product, I still think it’s amazing and I can imagine that loads of people are loving this product right now!

Another candle! I love candles so much, and when they’re bookish themed, they’re even better! This Hermione inspired candle was created by Flick the Wick. I absolutely love their candles and this one just smells gorgeous. I couldn’t stop sniffing it for about 5 minutes!

I have a major confession to make: I haven’t read all of the Hunger Games books… I read the first two and then just kind of stopped for some unknown reason. And then years have passed and I still haven’t read all of them. I am the worst. ANYWAY! This Katniss Everdeen inspired patch was created by Literary Emporium and the patch says ‘fire is catching! And if we burn, you burn with us!’ You can iron or sew this patch onto anything that you like, whether it be a jacket or a bag – and it will look awesome.

RRP: £5.00

This postcard was inspired by The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli and I think that the artwork is so so so good! I don’t know who designed it though, so if anyone knows, please could they let me know so that I can give them credit for designing this amazing piece of work!

I have heard about these book sleeves for quite a while now and I’ve been tempted to buy one but then something in the back of my head always stops me. So when I found that Fairy Loot had included a book sleeve in their box, I was so happy! This particular book sleeve was designed by Aunjuli Art and the inside of the book sleeve is waterproof so now I can finally take a book with me without worrying that it’s going to get ruined by the rubbish U.K weather! What would have made this book sleeve even better is to include a zip (or some other kind of fastener) at the top to ensure extra security, but that’s just me being picky! I can’t wait to try it out when I next go to university.

You can never have enough stickers! I love collecting them so that I can use them in my bullet journal! I have so so so many of them but like I said, YOU CAN NEVER HAVE TOO MANY! This sticker will be a wonderful addition to my collection. It is a sticker inspired by An Ember in the Ashes by Sabaah Tahir and it says ‘so long as you fight the darkness, you stand in the light’ and it was designed by Reverie and Ink.

This pin badge was a bonus feature of this months Fairy Loot to celebrate the release of This Mortal Coil by Emily Suvada. I’ve heard so many good things about this book and I cannot wait to read it! This is such a beautifully designed pin badge as well!

I think that this may be the item that I got most excited over out of this whole box. IT IS AN ARC OF FURYBORN BY CLAIRE LEGRAND! It comes out on May 22d 2018. I can’t believe that Fairy Loot included an arc of a highly anticipated release in their box. I just can’t believe it. The book sounds absolutely amazing and I am so happy to have a physical arc! I normally only get digital ones through Netgalley as I am way too scared to request physical arcs of publishers in case of rejection, BUT NOW I FINALLY HAVE ONE!

When assassins ambush her best friend, the crown prince, Rielle Dardenne risks everything to save him, exposing her ability to perform all seven kinds of elemental magic. The only people who should possess this extraordinary power are a pair of prophesied queens: a queen of light and salvation and a queen of blood and destruction. To prove she is the Sun Queen, Rielle must endure seven trials to test her magic. If she fails, she will be executed…unless the trials kill her first.

A thousand years later, the legend of Queen Rielle is a mere fairy tale to bounty hunter Eliana Ferracora. When the Undying Empire conquered her kingdom, she embraced violence to keep her family alive. Now, she believes herself untouchable–until her mother vanishes without a trace, along with countless other women in their city. To find her, Eliana joins a rebel captain on a dangerous mission and discovers that the evil at the heart of the empire is more terrible than she ever imagined.

As Rielle and Eliana fight in a cosmic war that spans millennia, their stories intersect, and the shocking connections between them ultimately determine the fate of their world–and of each other.

And now onto the main event! The book of the month was The Last Namsara by Kristen Ciccarelli! This is a book that has been hyped up so much in the book community and has been received with so much love. IT’S A BOOK ABOUT DRAGONS AND A DRAGON-SLAYER! I am so ready for this and I really can’t wait to read it… Even though my TBR pile is miles and miles long…

In the beginning, there was the Namsara: the child of sky and spirit, who carried love and laughter wherever he went. But where there is light, there must be darkness—and so there was also the Iskari. The child of blood and moonlight. The destroyer. The death-bringer.

These are the legends that Asha, daughter of the king of Firgaard, has grown up learning in hushed whispers, drawn to the forbidden figures of the past. But it isn’t until she becomes the fiercest, most feared dragon slayer in the land that she takes on the role of the next Iskari—a lonely destiny that leaves her feeling more like a weapon than a girl.

Asha conquers each dragon and brings its head to the king, but no kill can free her from the shackles that await at home: her betrothal to the cruel commandant, a man who holds the truth about her nature in his palm. When she’s offered the chance to gain her freedom in exchange for the life of the most powerful dragon in Firgaard, she finds that there may be more truth to the ancient stories than she ever could have expected. With the help of a secret friend—a slave boy from her betrothed’s household—Asha must shed the layers of her Iskari bondage and open her heart to love, light, and a truth that has been kept from her.

Alongside those items, they also included a pin badge inspired by The Last Namsara! So now you can walk around wearing this badge to show your love for such an awesome book!
