Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month, the theme was ‘Otherworlds’ and when the theme was announced last month, I genuinely had no clue what the book was going to be, so I was super excited to see what it was and what amazing goodies I would receive in this months box!
Let’s get on with the unboxing…
Another Fairy Loot box means another month of gorgeous artwork! The artwork for this month is absolutely amazing and sums up the book and theme perfectly. On the back of this card is all of the information about each item, but I never look at this as it contains spoilers as to what is in the box, and I WANT TO BE SURPRISED!
The first item that I saw in this months box was this Westeros Tea Strainer which was created by Fairy Loot! It’s so cute and dinky but unfortunately, I don’t use loose tea, I use tea bags. But! It looks like I’m going to start buying some loose tea just so I can use this amazing item! I’m obsessed with Game of Thrones as well so that just makes it even better.
The second item that caught my attention was this GORGEOUS candle from Book and Nook. On the spoiler card, it says that there were five different candles that got sent out. I got Azareen, which one did you receive? Let me know in the comments! This candle is absolutely beautiful and if you can’t tell from the picture, the candle has purple glitter on the top which is amazing and it smells heavenly! I can’t wait to use it.
In the box, there was also a coupon code for Mini Backdrops, which is a company where you can purchase gorgeous backdrops for your photos. An added bonus to this coupon card is that the artwork on the front is beautiful with the fairy reading a book.
I had to have a little chuckle when I saw this item in the box. It’s a sleeping mask and was bought to us by – yet again – Fairy Loot! The sleeping mask says ‘Fictional worlds fuel my dreams’ and is made out of satin. I think it’s so cool and even though I don’t use sleeping masks, I might have to start because of this!
This BEAUTIFUL necklace was created by Oh Panda Eyes and is inspired by the world of Velaris out of A Court of Mist and Fury. Even though I haven’t read the ACOTAR trilogy, I can still appreciate the beauty of this pendant and I’m definitely going to be wearing this soon! It also came in the little gorgeous drawstring bag which was an added bonus.
Ok, I confess, I’m not a Peter Pan fan. The story just never really appealed to me when I was a child, but this notebook is appealing to me right now! It was hand-painted by TJ Lubrano and is just fantastic. Lubrano is obviously mega talented to be able to draw and paint this and inside is the quote ‘all the world is made of faith and trust and pixie dust’ and then on the back end page is a map on Neverland! The texture of the paper in the notebook is awesome as well and one can never have enough notebooks so that is a fine addition to my collection!
AAAAAGGGGHHHHHHH GODSGRAVE!!!! I AM SO EXCITED FOR THIS TO COME OUT! I’ve actually pre-ordered the U.S hardcover edition and it comes out very very soon! So when I saw this Godsgrave chapter sampler that folded out into a massive poster, it just fueled my excitement. And I cannot wait to stick this poster on my wall by all of my bookshelves! I hope that Fairy Loot would include more posters like this in the future, because I am absolutely loving this item.
We were lucky enough to receive one sampler in the box, but we have TWO! This sampler is taken from Blackwing by Ed McDonald and there was also a temporary tattoo that was included with it which I think is so cool! I haven’t heard of this book before unboxing this months Fairy Loot, but it looks quite interesting so I can’t wait to give it a go.
At first, I had no clue what this gorgeous artwork was showing, but after consulting the spoiler card, I found out it was of the Northern Lights which is the book of the same name by Philip Pullman. This artwork was created by Melissa Nettleship and is sooooo nice and has actually inspired me to read The Northern Lights again after years and years.
I nearly cried at this point. I had unboxed everything and I had read the spoiler card and I saw that there were supposed to be Lord of the Rings magnetic bookmarks included in the box, but I hadn’t seen mine. So I literally tipped the contents of the box – purple paper and all – onto the floor, and out dropped my bookmarks. I sighed with relief because I absolutely love Lord of the Rings. You could have received Legolas and Thranduil, Samwise and Frodo, or Aragorn and Arwen. I received Aragorn and Arwen which I’m delighted about because they’re my favourites! Which set did you receive? Let me know in the comments! These gorgeous bookmarks were bought to us by Paperly and Co.
The book of the month was Wicked Like a Wildfire by Lana Popović and just LOOK AT THE COVER! IT’S SO BEAUTIFUL! If I had seen this book in the bookstore, this would have been an immediate cover buy. If you think it’s amazing as a photo, it’s even better in person! I hadn’t heard much about this book before receiving it. I know that it was at number 2 or 3 on the YA Releases of August list on Goodreads, but that’s about it. Along with the book, there was a letter from the author and a signed bookplate that you can peel off and stick in your book!
‘All the women in Iris and Malina’s family have the unique magical ability or “gleam” to manipulate beauty. Iris sees flowers as fractals and turns her kaleidoscope visions into glasswork, while Malina interprets moods as music. But their mother has strict rules to keep their gifts a secret, even in their secluded sea-side town. Iris and Malina are not allowed to share their magic with anyone, and above all, they are forbidden from falling in love.
But when their mother is mysteriously attacked, the sisters will have to unearth the truth behind the quiet lives their mother has built for them. They will discover a wicked curse that haunts their family line—but will they find that the very magic that bonds them together is destined to tear them apart forever?’
Like always, Fairy Loot also includes a bookmark with the month’s artwork on it and the Fairyscoop newsletter that includes an interview with the author and also information on next months box.
Thank you to Fairy Loot for another month of bookish goodness. I can’t wait for next months box which is themed All That Sass and I genuinely have no idea what the book is going to be for next month! I’ve looked on Goodreads for anything that resembles the description that Fairy Loot have provided but I have no clue! Don’t forget to check out the Fairy Loot website to see pictures and details of their past book boxes and to also see their price plans for subscriptions. You can find all of my unboxings on my unboxings page…
Believe me guys, you do not want to miss out!
