Fairy Loot Unboxing July 2017

Fairy Loot Unboxing July 2017

Welcome back to ANOTHER Fairy Loot unboxing! If you don’t already know, I now also have a YouTube channel where I have also filmed an unboxing as well as writing this blog post. So, for this month, the theme was ‘Tricksters’ and when the theme was announced last month, I knew exactly what the book would be, and I was so excited to get it! I was also excited to see what kind of goodies Fairy Loot would include to match the book.

Let’s get on with the unboxing…

The artwork for this month is absolutely amazing and sums up the book and theme perfectly. On the back of this card is all of the information about each item, but I never look at this as it contains spoilers as to what is in the box, and I WANT TO BE SURPRISED!

The first item that I saw in the box was this amazing mug by FictionTea and it says “I have to go to my mind palace” on it, which is taken from Sherlock Holmes. It’s quite a small mug but since I normally have to have a quick cup of tea before work, it’s the perfect size if I’m in a rush.

Nearly every box that I have received from Fairy Loot has included an item from Geeky Clean, and I love their products so much! This month, Fairy Loot included Geeky Clean’s: Loki Essence of Trickster Body Lotion. It smells absolutely gorgeous, and I can’t wait to use it!

RRP: £7.00

Yes, that’s right! Harry Potter playing cards were included in this months box. I wanted to scream when I saw them. I still haven’t taken off the cellophane because I want to keep them in pristine condition, but I’m also eager to see the designs on the cards so I know that I’ll open them soon. They also came in the gorgeous tin that you see on the left.

RRP: £6.99

I don’t cook at all, but when I saw this amazing trickster oven glove, I had to have a quick chuckle. It has such an amazing design on it and it’s giving me the incentive to bake some cakes just so I can use them. These were designed exclusively by Fairy Loot!

This is a promotional item that Fairy Loot included in their box, and it gives subscribers of this months box 15% off Behind the Pages’ items.

Miss Phi is also another frequent designer that Fairy Loot includes in their boxes. This time, Miss Phi has designed a gorgeous artwork that says “it doesn’t matter who broke you down, what matters is who made you smile again”, and that’s a quote from Harley Quinn.

And the book for the month of July is Daughter of the Burning City by Amanda Foody. If you’re a regular reader of my blog, you will know that carnival/circus themed books don’t really appeal to me and the only book of this theme that I actually enjoyed was Caraval by Stephanie Garber. So I’m a bit apprehensive to read it because it follows the same theme, but I have heard raving reviews about this book and it does actually sound really interesting. So even though I’m apprehensive, I’m excited at the same time to see if I will enjoy it or not. And plus, the cover is absolutely amazing, which is always a bonus!

“Sixteen-year-old Sorina has spent most of her life within the smoldering borders of the Gomorrah Festival. Yet even among the many unusual members of the traveling circus-city, Sorina stands apart as the only illusion-worker born in hundreds of years. This rare talent allows her to create illusions that others can see, feel and touch, with personalities all their own. Her creations are her family, and together they make up the cast of the Festival’s Freak Show.

But no matter how lifelike they may seem, her illusions are still just that—illusions, and not truly real. Or so she always believed…until one of them is murdered.

Desperate to protect her family, Sorina must track down the culprit and determine how they killed a person who doesn’t actually exist. Her search for answers leads her to the self-proclaimed gossip-worker Luca, and their investigation sends them through a haze of political turmoil and forbidden romance, and into the most sinister corners of the Festival. But as the killer continues murdering Sorina’s illusions one by one, she must unravel the horrifying truth before all of her loved ones disappear.”
