The Sunshine Time Ep 2 by Sonal Panse

The Sunshine Time Ep 2 by Sonal Panse

Once I had finished episode one of The Sunshine Time by Sonal Panse, I just had to start episode two. There was something about Lea’s personality and the way that Panse created this whole, entertaining world that just made me want to keep reading about these characters

Surviving the Kirzheik Liberation Front’s attempt to derail the train and rescuing Lieutenant Shaughnessy from the unwanted advances of a female soldier, Lea Chantry finds her train journey taking on unexpectedly romantic hues.

Now, I kind of saw this weird romantic turn coming but it was still hilarious and cute to read. I wasn’t sure about the character of Lieutenant Shaughnessy during the first episode because he came across as really cold and reserved which I know comes from his job of being a Mitrione soldier. But during the second episode, we got to see a lot of character development from him and also got to see a bit of his life story which was really interesting as we start to see an underlying sense of humour and care.

The one thing that annoyed me was that Lea pretty much forgot about her boyfriend, Rabin during this episode. There were a few mentions of him but Lea was head over heels for the Mitrione soldier.

“I think it’s totally horrible the way women crimp and abuse themselves to meet social standards of beauty, and all to get brownie points from some stupid man.”

– Sonal Panse, The Sunshine Time Ep 2

The second episode was definitely better than the first since the story now had foundations and the second episode was building on these foundations. We have not yet arrived at Lea’s university once this episode ends, we are still on the train, but I am excited to see – once Lea arrives at her destination – what the outcome is of this flirtation is between the Mitrione soldier and herself.

I cannot wait to read the third episode of this serial and I thoroughly recommend that you read this series with me and travel with Lea on her adventures.

Disclaimer: ‘The Sunshine Time’ is a serial novel. The episodes need to be read in sequence. This is not a standalone novel. Please be aware of this.

Each episode will be published on a fortnightly schedule (that is, every two weeks). At present, 30 episodes are planned for Season 1

This episode was sent to me by the author for an honest review.
